Destinations
The seven countries on our founding route, in the order we’re visiting them. Assessments publish from each as we arrive — El Salvador first.
La Libertad & the surf coast
Point breaks the length of the coast, pupusas for a dollar, and a surf-town network that runs on introductions.
On the ground now — first assessments publish from La Libertad this month.
Lake Atitlán & the highlands
Volcano trails, lakeside villages, and the operators who have been walking them for twenty years.
Assessments from October 2026.
Roatán & the Cangrejal valley
Reef diving off the island, whitewater in the valley, and a small-operator scene we already know by name.
Assessments from November 2026.
Lakes, volcanoes, farms
Ometepe, Granada and the farms in between — the least-marketed country on the route, which is the point.
Assessments from December 2026.
Guanacaste & the rodeo season
Working ranches, natural horsemanship, and the dry-season fiestas the package tours never reach.
Assessments from January 2027.
Bocas del Toro
Archipelago town life, boat-taxi commutes, jungle and reef in the same afternoon.
Assessments from February 2027.
Ambergris Caye & the cayes
Barrier reef access, laid-back island pace, a well-worn expat and dive-shop scene along the Caribbean coast.
Assessments in 2027.
Getting there
The big platforms handle the predictable parts well, and they pay us a commission when you book. Small independent operators are where we do the real work, and they never pay us.
