Verdict: great, and worth the money at an airport price. A French omelette with the best mushrooms I have had in a very long time - properly cooked, fresh, actual flavour, not the grey rubber you brace for at an airport counter. Coffee was coffee. Hash browns were good but heavy-handed on the seasoning, and the aftertaste lingered; that is the one mark against the plate.
Service was the highlight. Our server was polite, bright and respectful, a ray of sunshine after twenty-seven hours awake, and she did the professional thing and told us she was going on break rather than just disappearing. There was a noticeable dip in service while she was gone - that is a floor-coverage problem for the manager, not a mark against her. Break handovers are one of the commonest ways a good restaurant loses the customer's last impression, and this one nearly did.
Price: omelette $21.95, coffee $3.95, $29.00 all in. Airport dining is a captive-audience business where almost nobody bothers. Stella's bothered. If you are flying out of Winnipeg early, eat here rather than at the gate.
